It’s been a while since I touched my sketchbook, so I decided shake the dust and draw some bruised and bloody Peter Parker. Drawing pretty faces has gotten boring.
Part 2 of my Life Drawing final:
A Comic Unmasking
The concept for this assignment was to draw a self portrait of your face, as close to real/accurate as you can, in the center of a cartoonish or surreal scenery that reflects your life/interests. (The same idea as those big wooden boards with silly paintings of figures and the face cut out for you to stick yours in for photo ops at the fair) Mine is based on my love for, as well as my dream to work in making, comics.
Mellie, Codename: Force.
High-level telekinetic, able to lift at least 100,000 times her own weight and fly at Mach 5.

Commissioned painting. One of my favorite recent works, I think. :)
I’ll be doing a very limited edition print run of this piece to start off my personal print shop. They’ll be gallery quality inkjet prints, signed, numbered, 13”x19” size and run about $80 USD. E-mail me if you’d like to reserve one in advance. Otherwise, there will be an announcement in the future when they’re available!
Perfection.
The symbiote has to be one of my favourite things in Marvel, as well as my favourite thing to draw
This is wonderful. I’ve always had this idea that in order for my art to be good, I have to make it super-realistic, as if that’s the only kind of quality art. But stylized art like this just blows me away. The use of colour, composition, just ughhhhhh I love it.
